The new era at Paris's sex-charged fashion house Balmain is beginning to take shape, with 25 year old Olivier Rousteing being tapped as the label's new designer. Rousteing, who joined Balmain in 2009 and is currently in charge of women's wear, replaces Christophe Decarin, who left earlier this month due to strategic disputes with chairman Alain Hivelin. Before joining Balmain, Rousteing worked for five years at Roberto Cavalli, which should serve him well in delivering the rock-inflected glamour that became the label's trademark under Decarin.

balmain s/s 11
Apparently last season's disco queen has just discovered The Sex Pistols. Christophe Decarin has produced yet another collection for the Balmain bad girl who likes a bit of glamour, but this time around she's is a touch more angry and has a lot more edge. And though the safety pin jackets may prove a bit tricky, the cropped skinny jeans and distressed tanks will surely sell out. Try pairing with similar pieces from Burberry or soften the look with something floaty and feminine from Chloe.
