Miuccia Prada has gone for a modern take on forties demure, with massive open shoulders and cropped cacoon sleeves on top of sensible dresses and pencil skirts. Coat dresses played a particularly important role and were usually cut in thick heavy wool with bright contrast collars while trousers were completely absent and skirts reined supreme. Elegant accessories like fur stoles, hair combs and cat-eye glasses completed the look. Blend this sophisticated collection with chic blouses from Joseph or contrast with sporty pieces from Phillip Lim.
